About the artist

A-Lin (Amis name Lisang Pacidal Koyouan), a female singer of the Amis people in Taiwan, was born in Lingya, Kaohsiung, on September 20, 1983. While studying at 中華醫專, A-Lin often entered singing contests, and after graduating began singing as a resident performer in Tainan, working pubs across Kaohsiung, Tainan, Taichung and Taipei. As a student A-Lin entered "歌唱實力精英角逐比賽", with "至少還有你" as the contest song, and this contest made A-Lin believe there was a chance of becoming a professional singer.

In 1999, while teaching children affected by the 921 earthquake in Nantou to sing the hymn "奇異恩典", A-Lin was discovered by the former manager Jason. After 2003 the two met again at the residency bar "EZ5" in Taipei, and on April 15, 2005, formally signed. The contract was for nine musical works in ten years.

On February 10, 2006, A-Lin released a first solo album, "失戀無罪", under Avex. The same year, invited by aMEI, A-Lin joined the musical "愛上卡門", produced by aMEI, playing the second female lead, and after half a year of rehearsal gave two performances at the Taipei Arena at the end of the year. In May 2007 A-Lin was nominated for Best New Artist at the Golden Melody Awards with "失戀無罪". In June the same year Avex released A-Lin's first EP, "愛 請問怎麼走".
