About the artist
Chan Fai Young is a composer, arranger and music producer born in Macau and active in Hong Kong.
Chan graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, United States. His father played the violin and conducted an amateur choir in Macau; after his father conducted the choir's performance for the last time at age 80, Chan decided to arrange a concert for him.
In the summer of 2016, Chan brought together 28 female vocalists to reinterpret pop classics with a choir backed by classical instruments, under the theme "少女的祈禱". Afterward, concerts under the billing "陳輝陽 x 女聲合唱" were held at MacPherson Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Stadium and the Hong Kong Coliseum, and between 2016 and 2024 several live-recording singles were released, including "K歌之王 (Live at Hong Kong Coliseum)" and "會過去的 (Live at Hong Kong Coliseum)".
Chan has written songs including "暗湧", "少女的祈禱", "K歌之王" and "垃圾". He composed, arranged and produced "會過去的", a duet by Andy Hui (許志安) and 車婉婉, with lyrics by Wyman Wong (黃偉文).
On July 24-26, 2026, the solo retrospective concert "陳輝陽作品演唱會—K歌之王" was held for three shows at 澳門銀河綜藝館, presented by 棋人娛樂 and 好好笑音樂. The concert featured Eason Chan (陳奕迅), Joey Yung (容祖兒), 周筆暢, 炎明熹 and 小肥 (徐智勇) performing Chan Fai Young's works. 小肥 sang the premiere of "不醒人士", a new song Chan Fai Young wrote for him. Eason Chan recalled at the concert that Chan Fai Young first wrote "現場直播" for him in 1997, followed by "美麗有罪" and "黑夜不再來"; after Eason Chan moved to a new label, the two worked with Albert Leung (林夕) on "K歌之王". The concert closed with Chan Fai Young and Eason Chan performing "失戀太少" together.
