About the artist
Day Hui is a Hong Kong female singer and actor born on June 4, 2002, who grew up in Shek Wai Kok Estate, Tsuen Wan. She began learning dance in secondary school and joined the K-pop cover dance group BRIGHTEN, later reaching the final of "2021香港區K-POP舞蹈比賽—CHOOM."
Before joining a Hong Kong talent show, Day Hui traveled alone to South Korea for trainee instruction. During several summer, Christmas, and New Year holidays from 2018 to 2020, Hui trained in South Korea as an idol trainee; this experience was later interrupted by the pandemic, her studies, and other factors.
Day Hui competed in "全民造星IV" and ultimately finished third. In the round of 60, her A2 group competed with a dance-and-vocal rendition of "Candy Ball" and other items; despite the group's loss, she advanced. In the final, she covered 鄭希怡's "相對濕度," ranking fourth with the judges and second with the audience to take third place with 36 points.
Day Hui also participated in Lolly Talk's early formation: on December 24, 2021, Hui, 郭曉妍, Elka Cheng, MeiMei Tsang, Tania Chan, and Violet Wong Wing-lam formed the group on a YouTube channel and released their first video and the Christmas Version of "Candy Ball." However, HK01 records that after ViuTV invited Hui to join COLLAR, she ultimately did not enter Lolly Talk's official lineup. On January 12, 2022, Hui began activities as a COLLAR member and released "Call My Name!"; she did not participate in any further Lolly Talk works.
Outside her activities with COLLAR, Day Hui released the solo radio single "Wait A Second" on March 4, 2025, beginning her solo music career. In late November that year, as a newcomer, Hui reached the final 12 for "我最喜愛女歌手" at "2025年度叱咤樂壇流行榜頒獎典禮." On January 1, 2026, she won bronze in "生力軍女歌手" as a solo artist at the same awards ceremony, while also winning "組合金獎" with COLLAR.
Her acting work has also extended to television: Day Hui played Anna, a secondary-school student who joins the online channel "無景深."
