His early screen work included several television series. Edan Lui appeared successively in "娛樂風雲," "黑市," and "男排女將," playing 阿神 in "男排女將."

"大叔的愛" gave Edan Lui his first leading role in a television series, as 田一雄. In an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR Hong Kong, Lui said that the long shoot prompted him to focus more intently on acting and that the challenge was to portray the character's indecisive side without annoying the audience. Lui also co-starred with 魏浚笙 in the swimming series "I SWIM."

His film work includes "闔家辣" and "過時·過節." Edan Lui played the second male lead in "闔家辣." In the family-themed film "過時·過節," he played the first male lead; the two works each earned Lui a nomination for Best New Performer at the 41st Hong Kong Film Awards.

Edan Lui also appeared in the film "死屍死時四十四." Lui attended its premiere; the film opened on April 4 and was selected as the opening film of the 18th Osaka Asian Film Festival.

The pandemic also changed the release plans for an Edan Lui single. "Elevator" was originally planned for late February, but the music video could not be filmed because of the pandemic, moving the release to late March before it ultimately came out on April 1; the song's choreography was co-created by 梁業 and Ali. Lui also joined Leo Ku's "IRLTS" project to cover "飄流教室," which later topped three radio charts.

Edan Lui's solo music activities in 2023 included single releases, a guest performance at the Hong Kong Coliseum, and his first solo concert. On February 17, Lui made his first solo guest appearance at a Hong Kong Coliseum concert, supporting the opening show of "時間遇上我們 梁詠琪2023香港演唱會." He released his second solo single of the year, "ChatMrE," on May 8; from August 25 to 27, he held his first solo concert, "EDAN LUI 「IN MY SIGHT OF E」SOLO CONCERT 2023," at AsiaWorld-Expo.

Edan Lui handled both acting and singing duties in the television series "社內相親." In 2023, ViuTV announced production of a Hong Kong adaptation of the South Korean work; Lui played the company president's secretary 章成勳 and sang the ending theme "你的黑馬."

Voice performance was another new field for Edan Lui. He voiced the young 楊雲峰 in "微涼之夏," a radio drama celebrating Commercial Radio's 65th anniversary, marking his first participation in a radio drama.

Edan Lui expanded his creative responsibilities in his solo work in 2024. He released "油麻地莎士比亞" on April 1 and "純銀子彈" on December 28, participating in the writing of a solo song and serving as producer for the first time. On April 1, 2025, "天天都是愚人節" was released as his second self-written solo song.

Edan Lui also released his first solo album and held his second solo concert. The album "e to E" contains eight songs, including five new tracks and three earlier works. From August 16 to 18, 2025, Lui held "EDAN LUI 「e to E」LIVE 2025" at AsiaWorld-Expo.
