About the artist

Born on May 3, 1966, Edmond So is a Hong Kong male singer, actor, lyricist, composer, television host, and businessman. As a child, he lived in Lei Yue Mun Road Estate in Kwun Tong, Kowloon, and was a neighbor of the brothers Calvin Choy and Remus Choy. In 1978, when they were in Primary Six, Edmond So and Calvin Choy were classmates at Kwun Tong Methodist Primary School. He later attended lower secondary school at St. Johannes College in Taikoo Shing, North Point, and graduated from Kwun Tong Kung Lok Government Secondary School in 1983.

Before entering show business, Edmond So worked in shipping. He later formed Grasshopper with Calvin Choy and Remus Choy; the group's name came from the fact that the Chinese surnames of all three contain the grass radical. The three entered the New Talent Singing Awards in 1985 and subsequently pursued singing careers under Anita Mui's mentorship.

In addition to singing with the group, Edmond So also appeared in TVB dramas and hosted the television program "娛樂大搜查".
