About the artist
Endy Chow is a Hong Kong male singer-songwriter and actor, born on December 11, 1979 at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, ancestral home Shunde, Foshan, Guangdong, with one younger brother and one younger sister. The instruments played are guitar, cello and piano, and the musical styles are rock, Cantonese pop, English pop and Mandarin pop.
In 1993, at age thirteen, emigrated to New Zealand, by which time had already formed the band Zarahn with close friends. After studying fine art for one year in 1998, the following year went to Japan to study, majoring in multimedia design. In Japan met Korean classmate 李美英, in 2002 settled in Hong Kong and married, and has three daughters; English Wikipedia separately records a 2021 divorce.
From 2003 recommended by 林健華 to Warner Music Hong Kong, and upon entering the industry publicly disclosed married status. HK01 records that whether the 2003 solo debut or the band Zarahn, there were quite a few Rock songs, and also records a consistent image as a Rock 友, holding a guitar and singing while playing. The debut work is "14天"; Endy Chow handled music, lyrics, arrangement and production of that song, and the outlet describes its style as rough and direct Pop Rock, with lyrics about puppy love—first love full of passion and mostly imperfect. The song is included on the March 18, 2004 "周國賢同名EP", which also has "目黑". On November 26, 2004 released "溫室汽球", on November 10, 2005 released "光", and in the same year received Ultimate Song Chart Singer-Songwriter Gold.
In 2006 shifted from a solo identity to developing Zarahn; from 2008 began stepping backstage and managing the family dried-seafood business; in mid-2009, before ending the contract with Warner, released the compilation "College" and then fully left the music scene. In mid-2010 announced joining BMA Entertainment and returning; on October 28 of the same year released "Implode", on August 21, 2012 released "Live A Life", and founded the production company Vague Eyes (朦朧眼美術工作室). Wikipedia records that in mid-2013, because of emotional distress, Endy Chow left the music scene again; from August 2014 turned back to behind-the-scenes work; in 2015 returned to the front and signed with WOW Music.
On September 8, 2015 released "We Fight Like Kids"; the second lead "我們都不是無辜的" has music by Endy Chow and lyrics by Wyman Wong; an HK01 report sums up the song's theme as sharing thoughts after marital arguments: much of the responsibility for couples' quarrels comes from both sides. The same article records that Endy Chow had gone through a career low or emotional issues in between, and after hitting bottom fought more bravely; another report by the outlet says "little Chow has become Dad Chow", with both musical style and themes becoming more mature.
In December 2017 held the concert "銀河鐵道之夜" at MacPherson Stadium in Mong Kok. On April 24, 2019 released "仲間"; the special-edition record was designed by 梁偉文, and Endy Chow was inspired to rearrange "去他***的世界". In the same year received the Silver Award for Best Improvement of the Year at the Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards, and at Ultimate Song Chart 2019 first took My Favourite Male Singer—unable to appear because of being abroad and the awards ceremony being cancelled.
The first Hong Kong Coliseum concert originally set for April 2020 was announced as shelved. From September 2 to 4, 2022, The End Live was finally held at the Hong Kong Coliseum, the first Coliseum concert since debut.
Screen appearances began with "半醉人間" in 2006, playing Paul in that film; in 2016 played 許家樂 in ViuTV's "三一如三" and hosted that station's "唱出香港"; in 2018 played 林奇偉 in "愛比死更冷"; in 2019 had "The Invincible Dragon" and played the character "周末" in ViuTV's "Reboot"; in 2021 played 張智仁 in "熱唱吧"; in 2024 played 巫立賢 in "無人之境". In 2020 appeared in the film "一秒拳王" as male lead 周天仁 and sang the theme; in 2021, with that film, received Best Actor at the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Awards; in 2022, with the theme "時間的初衷", received Best Original Film Song at the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards.
香港01 records being like a dragon whose head is seen but not the tail in the Hong Kong music scene, yet every work is a sincere work; and records that occasionally re-listening to "14天", "不敵" and "極樂" can bring back the feeling of youth. From June to July 2026 took part in "JFFT歌謠祭2026", teaming with 雞翼 as GEnE.
