About the artist

Freya Lim is a Taiwanese female singer born in Taipei on November 20, 1979.

Freya Lim entered the music industry after a KTV gathering: while back in Taiwan from the United States for work during the summer of 1999, Lim sang Sandy Lam's "夜太黑" and was invited by musician 林明陽 to sign with What's Music. Her debut solo album, "林凡freya," was released in 2000 and included "一個人生活."

The year after her debut record was released, Freya Lim was nominated for Best New Artist at the 12th Golden Melody Awards but could not attend the ceremony because of her studies. In June 2001, her second solo album, "都是他," was released; its song "愛情超能力" was selected as the Chinese-language theme song for the animated film "史瑞克."

After ending her contract with What's Music, Freya Lim graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a degree in psychology in 2002 and joined Linfair Records at the end of that year; a new record was repeatedly delayed because of changes in planning personnel. In 2007, she released her first English-language cover album, "非愛不可·心林凡," then pursued a master's degree in mass communication at Boston University, graduating and returning to Taiwan in 2009.
