In 1995, after the contract with Magic Stone ended, founded the personal studio 潮水音樂, its name taken from "愛如潮水"; in the same period joined Seed Music, a sub-label under EMI. "寬容", released thereafter, was the first album after joining EMI, and also the tenth album. Fount Media records that every EMI album broke a million copies in sales, and that the title "Prince of Love Songs" was also received.

In 1996 with "寬容" received Best Mandarin Male Vocalist at the 7th Golden Melody Awards, defeating 趙傳, 伍思凱, 費玉清, 林志炫 and others at that edition. The same year issued the Mandarin album "夢想" and the Cantonese albums "深情" and "思念" and the English album "夜色". In 1997 issued the third Mandarin album of the EMI trilogy, "摯愛", with "用情" as the lead; from the same year switched to collaborating with Sony Music, and in December issued the first Mandarin album after signing, "直覺".

In 1998 first took part in the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. In 1999 issued the Mandarin album "回來" and the single "愛就一個字", the latter the theme song of the animated film "寶蓮燈". In May 2000 released "信仰". In 2002 sang the Chinese theme song "從開始到現在" of the Korean drama Winter Sonata.

Jeff Chang later once said 2005 to 2006 was the career's lowest period, and that the thought of leaving the music scene also arose then. After leaving Sony, began fully independently producing music. In 2014 changed to a new work team, and on music release focused on digital platforms and started a singles-first mode.

Thereafter the works in order were 2004 "下一個永遠", 2006 "做你的男人", 2008 "逃生", 2010 "初_專輯", 2012 "空出來的時間", 2015 "還愛", 2016 "愛如潮水", 2017 "擁恆" and March 2021's "就懂了". The cover album "歌時代II", recorded in a One Take simultaneous recording with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, is recorded by Hit Fm as released on September 28, 2018, and by Wikipedia as issued in January 2019. "A Matter of Love" was composed by Gary Barlow with lyrics by Tim Rice. Recent works include August 2025's "共犯" and "屬於".

In 2005 appeared in the musical "電影之歌", thereafter the music films "不完全戀人" (2006) and "明明" (2007). In 2011 took charge of 台北故事劇場 and became troupe leader; the same year, Wikipedia records becoming the first Taiwan singer to perform in the UK.

On February 25, 2023 held the "未來式2.0" concert tour at Taipei Arena; ETtoday records this as fifty-five-year-old Jeff Chang's third time taking the Arena. Jeff Chang said the last time singing in Taipei was already 2019, and thanked the audience for enduring three years of the pandemic; when singing "時間都去哪兒了" invited the German artist Tobias Gremmler, who had collaborated with Björk, to take part in the production, and then sang "愛就一個字".
