About the artist

Jenny Tseng, a Macau female singer, original name 甄淑詩, was born in Macau. There are three accounts of the date of birth: the lead of the Chinese Wikipedia gives April 3, 1953, the body of the same article gives February 6, 1953, and the English Wikipedia gives February 20, 1953. Jenny Tseng graduated from the evening division of 台北市立第四女子中學, then entered the five-year junior-college division of 世界新聞專科學校 (now Shih Hsin University), and after the fourth year of the five-year programme transferred to 中國文化學院 (now Chinese Culture University). In 1970 葉文忠, a director at China Television (CTV), came to 中國文化學院 to scout locations for the Mandarin serial "鳳凰樹" and found Jenny Tseng, then a first-year student in the Chinese drama programme majoring in Peking opera, to appear in it. CTV then introduced Jenny Tseng onto the variety show "每日一星", and before long Jenny Tseng was singing on CTV.

In 1971 Jenny Tseng debuted in Taiwan, signed with 銀河唱片 and released the solo album "心湖"; the same year there were also the albums "甄妮之歌" and "我家在哪里". In 1972 Jenny Tseng was signed away to 海山唱片 and began working with the composer 劉家昌, singing many Mandarin film themes, including "誓言", "梅花", "秋歌" and "海誓山盟", and the same year released the album "誓言". In 1974 the soundtrack album "早晨再見" was released, and in 1976 the albums "秋歌" and "奇妙的爱", and in Hong Kong the Cantonese shidaiqu covers album "愛情四重彩".
