On May 29, 2009, Lala Hsu released a first album of original work, "LaLa首張創作專輯". On June 26, 2010, Lala Hsu won Best New Artist at the 21st Golden Melody Awards with the first album, and at that edition the album received six nominations in the popular-music category. On September 3 the same year a second studio album, "極限", was released. On June 6, 2012, a third Mandarin album, "理想人生", was released, and it was chosen as one of the top ten excellent albums for 2012 by the 中華音樂人交流協會. The next year Lala Hsu was nominated for the first time for Best Mandarin Female Singer at the 24th Golden Melody Awards with this album. The "理想人生" tour was held from 2012 to 2013, and in 2013 the live album "繼續‧理想人生演唱會實況錄音" was released.

On June 13, 2014, Lala Hsu released a fourth Mandarin album, "尋人啟事", and at the time announced that the concert "日全蝕" would be held at the Taipei Arena on March 21, 2015, as Lala Hsu's first solo show at the Arena. At the 26th Golden Melody Awards, nominations related to "尋人啟事" came to six: Song of the Year, Best Mandarin Album, Best Mandarin Female Singer, Best Composer, Best Lyricist and Best Arranger. The "日全蝕" tour was held from 2015 to 2016, and in 2016 the live album "日全蝕演唱會現場實錄" and "收•音" were released. In January 2016 Lala Hsu took part in season 4 of "我是歌手" on Hunan Television as one of eight first-wave singers, won the first episode with "失落沙洲", and in the end advanced to the final. "湫兮如風", sung by Lala Hsu, from the film "大魚海棠", was nominated for Best Original Film Song at the 53rd Golden Horse Awards.

On April 22, 2017, Lala Hsu held the tour "是日救星" at the Taipei Arena, and from May the same year performed in turn in Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Malaysia and elsewhere. The Hong Kong show was at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hung Hom, and it was Lala Hsu's first large ticketed concert at the Coliseum. On December 27 the same year Lala Hsu released a fifth Mandarin album, "心裡學". At the 29th Golden Melody Awards on June 23, 2018, Lala Hsu won Best Mandarin Female Singer with this album, and "心裡學" also won Best Mandarin Album. In 2019 Lala Hsu released the EP "「徐佳瑩的學生時代」ONE", and the same year there were also three EPs, "「徐佳莹的学生时代」TWO", "「徐佳莹的学生时代」THREE" and "「徐佳莹的学生时代」FOUR".

In January 2020 Lala Hsu took part in "歌手·當打之年" on Hunan Television, as one of seven first-wave singers, and in the end advanced to the final. On December 3, 2021, Lala Hsu was chief mentor of the talent show "聲林之王3". On June 22, 2022, a sixth Mandarin album, "給", was released. At the 33rd Golden Melody Awards on July 2 the same year, Lala Hsu and 陳君豪 won Best Single Producer for "以上皆非", the lead single of this album. In the nomination list of the 34th Golden Melody Awards, published in May 2023, nominations related to "給" came to 7, including Album of the Year, Best Mandarin Album and Best Mandarin Female Singer. On July 1 the same year Lala Hsu won Best Composer at that edition for "不在一起就不會分開", written for 洪佩瑜. From November 2023 Lala Hsu held the tour "變得有些奢侈的事". The first stop was two shows in a row at the Taipei Arena. The tour crossed Asia and Oceania, and it was also the first time Lala Hsu sang in a Western country. There were 27 shows in all, and the last was in Melbourne, Australia. The tour continued into 2025. "未來的昨天", sung by Lala Hsu for "忘了我記得", was nominated for "戲劇類原創歌曲獎" at the 61st Golden Bell Awards.
