MingMing

Ming is the drummer for the Taiwanese band Mayday. Born 劉冠佑 in Miaoli on July 28, 1973, he attended 明仁初中 and 國光藝校.

Before joining the band, Ming was the drummer for the indie band Why Not, which released the album "無法度按捺" in 1995. Ming also operated a band rehearsal studio and rented the space to Ashin, Monster, Masa, and Stone, who were still students at the time, which is how he met them. In 1999, Ming joined Mayday as its fourth drummer.

Composition has been part of Ming's work through both stages of his band career. During his time with Why Not, Ming released his first original song, "Why Not." After joining Mayday, he released his own composition "超人" on the band's 2004 album "神的孩子都在跳舞," and later composed "夜訪吸血鬼."

A concert promise produced a memorable solo moment for Ming onstage. Before tickets went on sale for the "天空之城" concert, Ming, using his name at the time, 諺明, promised, "If 40,000 people show up, 諺明 will dance Swan Lake onstage." Attendance reached 40,000 on the day of the show, and Ming fulfilled the promise in a swan costume.
