About the artist

Liu Jia-Kai, born on February 5, 1982, is a Taiwanese male musician, Sodagreen guitarist, and composer for film and television. In 2003, Liu Jia-Kai joined Sodagreen with Ho Jing-Yang and Kung Yu-Chi, establishing the group's subsequent lineup.

Sodagreen began a hiatus after its performance on January 1, 2017. Liu Jia-Kai then went to Berklee College of Music in Boston, United States, to study composition and guitar, and formed the limited-time group Knock Nak with 歐陽娜娜 and others.

Liu Jia-Kai had difficulty readjusting when he returned to work with the group after studying in the United States. When he rejoined the group in 2020, he was at one point unable to play guitar normally. He recalled, "At the time, no matter what I did, I couldn't play the guitar. It was something I'd been doing for 20 years, and I'd spent time studying further—so why was I still like this?" Liu Jia-Kai also compared this setback with the problems he encountered around the time of Sodagreen's first album, noting that he could not write notation in his early years and later went to Berklee to study composition and guitar.
