About the artist
Lokman Yeung is a Hong Kong male actor, singer, and dancer born on September 26, 1989. He studied taekwondo from childhood and earned a black belt, began street dancing in 2005, and specializes in locking; he also founded the dance crew SREKCOL, which entered dance competitions in Hong Kong and Singapore. Looking back at his primary-school graduation album, Yeung discovered that the future profession he had written down was dancer and recalled: "It turns out I wrote that my future profession would be dancer."
Dance training also led Lokman Yeung into teaching, stage, and on-camera work. He worked as an instructor at Dance Kingdom, participated in music-video and dance-short filming, and appeared as a dancer in the opening performance of "星和無線電視大獎" in 2016. Earlier screen experience included an appearance in "天幕下的戀人" in 2006; in 2013, Yeung played Dave in the film "狂舞派."
A talent competition changed Lokman Yeung's professional focus. In 2018, he competed in "Good Night Show 全民造星" and placed third; on November 3 that year, he formed MIRROR with eleven other contestants and became its leader. Within the group, Yeung and deputy leader Anson Kong also handle questions from the media.
"FING!" combines dance and rap: the song uses electro dance and blends hip-hop and waacking, with Lokman Yeung responsible for its rap writing. Yeung explained that locking generally uses funk music, while electro dance is usually paired with electronic dance music; although both involve many arm movements, their techniques for progression and transitions differ.
His solo music career began with a collaboration. In 2021, Lokman Yeung and Anson Kong released the duet single "虎道門," through which Yeung entered the music industry as an individual artist and received "劲爆新人" from Metro Radio. In 2022, the two again sang together on "Fight Your Corner," the theme song of the television series "繩角."
His first solo vocal work arrived in 2024. In January 2024, Lokman Yeung released the solo single "如果電話亭."
Television is part of Lokman Yeung's dramatic work. In 2022, he took his first major television role, playing Tony, "星之子," in "IT狗"; before filming "繩角," he also underwent physical training with the other cast members.
His film and short-film work includes "命案" and "是日精選." In 2023, the Yeung-led "命案" entered the Berlinale Special section of the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival. He also starred in "是日精選," directed by Tiger Yau, which served as the opening short of the 17th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival.
Touring also tested Lokman Yeung's ability to adapt on stage. In an interview with Madame Figaro Hong Kong, Yeung recalled suffering heatstroke from the second song onward at the Singapore stop but continuing to complete the performance; discussing how he handled it, he said: "I didn't really handle it in any way; I still had to finish dancing."
