About the artist

Mark Lui is a composer, arranger and producer from Hong Kong.

Lui formed the duo Dry with 馮德倫 early in his career and later went independent; there were reports that the two had split up over a falling-out, which they both denied. According to Lui, his music career began when he worked under James Wong Jim on film scores: Wong gave him the chance to write the melody, they split the fee evenly, and both their names were credited side by side.

Lui composed the score for the film "梁祝" together with James Wong Jim, 胡偉立 and 黃英華, and won the Best Original Film Score award at the 14th Hong Kong Film Awards. "風花雪" (an insert song in the film "天涯海角"), composed by Lui with lyrics by 周禮茂 and sung by Kelly Chen, won the Best Original Film Song award at the 16th Hong Kong Film Awards.

Lui has written or produced songs for singers including Leon Lai, Kelly Chen, Leo Ku, Eason Chan, Miriam Yeung, Andy Hui, Edmond Leung, 方力申 and William So; his best-known songs include "情深說話未曾講" and "強", as well as a number of electronic dance songs for Leon Lai and Kelly Chen.
