MC HotDogMC HotDog

MC HotDog (shortened to 熱狗), birth name 姚中仁, is a Taiwanese rapper, born in Taipei on April 10, 1978, from Muzha, and once attended the supplementary school of Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School. In 1996 MC HotDog entered Fu Jen Catholic University, performed freestyle rap at the orientation party, and began small-scale stage shows.

In 1998, 熱狗 posted self-written rap songs one after another on the rap discussion site MasterU, and they spread through campuses, the internet and Guanghua Market; in 1999, pirated CDs of the homemade music even appeared at Guanghua Market. A feature on every little d says 熱狗 was from then on hailed as "the foremost figure in Taiwan's underground rap."

Also in 1998, at a MasterU meetup in Ximending, 熱狗 met 大支, who was studying at Taipei Physical Education College. The two often played ball and went to parties, gradually became friends, and shared what they wrote; by then 大支's "台灣SONG" and 熱狗's "釣蝦場" were largely in shape. Magic Stone Records, on a recommendation from 小林 (林志宏), who ran the Taipei nightclub @live, watched 熱狗 perform live and, when the set reached "韓流來襲", decided to sign the undergraduate.
