About the artist

Michael Wong (real name 王光良; English name: Michael Wong Kong Leong) is a Malaysian male singer-songwriter, born on August 30, 1970, in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Wong graduated from Sam Tet School in Ipoh, where he frequently participated in musical performances and began writing his own songs in secondary school; he later took a computer engineering course in Kuala Lumpur as his interest in music and composition continued to grow. Wong attracted the attention of Asia Pacific Music in a Pioneer karaoke competition and signed a recording-artist contract with the company; during the contract period, he studied audio engineering at the Ocean Institute Of Audio Engineering.

In 1994, Wong collaborated with 品冠 in Malaysia under the duo name "光良品冠," releasing the albums "掌心" and "多心" through Rock Records Malaysia. In 1995, Wong signed with Rock Records Taiwan and, together with 品冠, formally entered Taiwan's music scene under the duo name 無印良品; they subsequently released albums including "無印良品 ×2," "胡思亂想," "三人行," and "想見你." For the year in which 無印良品 released "掌心" in Taiwan, the Chinese Wikipedia gives 1995, while 報時光, part of United Daily News Group, gives 1996. With "掌心," 無印良品 was nominated for Best Male Vocalist in the World Chinese Works category at the eighth Golden Melody Awards, and with "無印良品 ×2" and "三人行," the duo was nominated for Best Vocal Group at the ninth and tenth Golden Melody Awards. In 1997, "是你變了嗎" topped the Outstanding Mandarin Songs Chart at the Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards in Hong Kong.
