About the artist
Stone is the guitarist for the Taiwanese band Mayday. Born 石錦航 on December 11, 1975, he attended 師大附中, where he and Masa served respectively as vice presidents of the guitar club in the first and second semesters of the same academic year; he was also a member of the school swim team. He later attended the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering at Tamkang University and graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in the United Kingdom.
Stone studied in the United Kingdom while Mayday had suspended group activities. After Mayday's final farewell concert, Stone went to a music college in Liverpool, United Kingdom, for further study because Ashin, Monster, and Masa were due to begin military service. He returned to Taiwan after completing his studies on May 27, 2002.
In addition to playing guitar in the band, Stone also composes. In 2004, he released his first original song, "寂寞星球," on the soundtrack to the film "五月之戀"; his solo singles also include "真實故事改編."
Stone has also acted in several works: in 2004, he played 阿磊's older brother in "五月之戀"; in 2018, he played 石志偉 in "幸福城市"; and in 2022, he played 何健寰 in "台北女子圖鑑."
The musical instrument business is another part of Stone's work: on April 6, 2014, he opened the instrument shop and café 音舖 (iNPUT Music) in Taipei, and that same year he was invited to endorse the guitar brand Squier.
An injury-related absence also affected the band's view of being together onstage: Mayday said that after Stone missed a performance due to injury, the members valued every opportunity to share the stage even more.
