About the artist
Tiger Yau is a member of the boy group MIRROR. Born in Hong Kong on July 3, 1999, he took part in numerous martial arts and dance competitions while in school. Tiger Yau initially did not want to learn Latin dance, but continued after gaining recognition in a school competition.
A talent-show experience brought Tiger Yau into the entertainment business. In 2018, he entered "Good Night Show 全民造星" as contestant No. 38, performed Latin dance in the preliminary round, and was eliminated in the top 30. After the show ended, Tiger Yau was invited to join MIRROR on November 3, primarily taking responsibility for dance and rap in the group.
Video directing is one of Tiger Yau's pursuits away from the stage. In 2019, he directed the music video for MIRROR's third single, "破鏡." In 2023, he directed the short film "是日精選," which became the opening film of the 17th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival; Lokman Yeung played the male lead, while Jeremy Lee, Anson Kong, and Frankie Chan also appeared.
Tiger Yau's acting work includes the karate-themed television series "打天下2," in which he performed a fight scene with Anson Kong.
Fashion design forms another part of Tiger Yau's career. He founded the casual fashion brand dézert and invited Alton Wong and Lokman Yeung to take part. Tiger Yau explained that he invited the two because they were familiar with street style and he hoped their collaboration could bring related elements into the product designs.
Tiger Yau released his first solo work in 2024. In January 2024, he released his first solo single, "Alright"; in the music video, he played an office worker whose life was going badly, with cars and a car-burning scene used to support the story. On July 18, 2025, he released his third solo single, "問多一次," through which Tiger Yau hoped to explore love and relationships between men and women.
