About the artist

Wong You-nam is a Hong Kong male singer and actor, born on November 2, 1983. His birth name is 黃德謙, and he is also a member of Shine.

His entry into film began with a student group photo. While preparing to film "香港有個荷里活" in 1999, 陳果's assistant director, 陳偉強, saw the photo in the wallet of one of Wong You-nam's classmates and subsequently invited Wong You-nam to take part in the shoot through that classmate. This led to Wong You-nam being cast, and the film earned him nominations for Best New Performer at both the 39th Golden Horse Awards and the 22nd Hong Kong Film Awards.

Another early film, "一碌蔗," was released in 2002 and also earned Wong You-nam a Best New Performer nomination at the 22nd Hong Kong Film Awards. The two films resulted in separate nominations for him in the same category at the same edition of the Hong Kong Film Awards.

Shine was formed after signing and vocal training. Film producer 錢小蕙 saw potential in the development of Wong You-nam and Chui Tien-you and, before their debut, contacted 福隆製作公司, founded by Taiwanese producer 葛福鴻. The two signed with the company as its artists and received training from vocal coach 梁月玲. They subsequently formed the male vocal group Shine in 2002.
