Wu Bai & China BlueWu Bai & China Blue

Wu Bai & China Blue is a Taiwanese rock band formed in 1992, led by 小朱; apart from Wu Bai, 小朱, 大貓, and Dino Zavolta also formed the band "China Blue." Wu Bai's official website states that the four members have not changed since the band formed in 1992.

The band's formation began with invitations among its members. An introductory article on Wu Bai's official website says that 小朱 had long wanted to form a band. When he telephoned Wu Bai, the person answering said Wu Bai had gone to practice singing, leading 小朱 to think Wu Bai already had a band; several days later, Wu Bai called and proposed that they form one together. Drummer Dino Zavolta is an Italian-American who had traveled to Taipei with a heavy-metal band and remained in Taiwan; he met 小朱 while performing at a bar and later joined the band.

On the origin of the name China Blue, the official website records Dino Zavolta's account: while the members were discussing a band name, Dino said the English word "Jungle"; after Wu Bai and the others repeated it, it sounded like "China," and because Wu Bai also loved blues, the band took the name "China Blue."
