About

江海迦 (AGA), born in Hong Kong, is a pop singer-songwriter. She worked as a flight attendant in her early years and later became a behind-the-scenes composer after being discovered by musician Shu Wen; she has written songs for numerous Hong Kong singers. In 2013, she officially signed with Universal Music and made her debut as a singer-songwriter with her first single, “Hello.”

AGA’s songwriting and vocals feature distinct elements of R&B (Rhythm and Blues), soul, and light electronic music. She typically composes most, if not all, of the tracks on her solo albums. Her work often combines urban emotional narratives with highly rhythmic arrangements, and her vocal delivery leans toward a laid-back, breathy style. This production style has established a highly distinctive “urban” musical style that stands apart from the mainstream ballad-pop paradigm of the Hong Kong music scene.

In terms of record production, producer Shu Wen has been her long-standing and key musical collaborator. Their musical chemistry ensures a high degree of consistency in both sound quality and stylistic aesthetics across AGA’s discography. Additionally, she frequently collaborates with other musicians and singers, and her duets have garnered widespread attention in the commercial market.

Music critics and industry observers agree that AGA has effectively expanded the stylistic boundaries of Cantonese pop music in the Hong Kong music industry since the 2010s. Her work combines high commercial appeal with a consistent Western pop aesthetic, and she is widely regarded as a representative and pivotal creative force among the new generation of Hong Kong musicians.
