About

MIRROR is a 12-member male pop group active in Hong Kong, China. In 2018, Hong Kong Television Entertainment (ViuTV) hosted the large-scale talent show *Star Creation*, which sparked a long-awaited talent show craze in Hong Kong society. Following the competition, MIRROR was formed by 12 contestants—including Jiang Tao, Anson Lo, and Edan Lü—and officially debuted.

The rise of MIRROR is widely regarded as a strong revival of Hong Kong’s local idol industry after years of dormancy. In terms of music planning and production, the group has broken free from the constraints of traditional Hong Kong-style love songs, extensively incorporating cutting-edge international electronic dance music (EDM), trap beats, and high-energy dance-pop choreography. Their signature tracks, such as “IGNITED” and “BOSS,” have garnered extremely high play counts on digital streaming platforms and video websites. At the same time, the group has adopted a “group and solo parallel” development strategy, with several core members demonstrating remarkable market dominance when releasing solo tracks, covering diverse genres such as R&B, rap, and modern ballads.

Driven by modern entertainment capital, MIRROR has demonstrated exceptional commercial monetization capabilities and community management skills. Their music releases range from high-end limited-edition physical formats to the global distribution of lossless digital audio, and through the strategic integration of brand endorsements and resources from film, television, and variety shows, they have achieved comprehensive coverage across all media platforms. According to cultural studies observers, MIRROR’s commercial success represents a renewed identification with local entertainment idols among a new generation of Hong Kong audiences, and its related digital and physical audio-visual materials serve as core case studies for examining the resurgence of Hong Kong pop culture in the 2020s.
