In 1992 issued the album "喜歡妳是妳"; Wikipedia records that the lead "喜歡你是妳" at the start of the next year "received a wider response", and records that Andy Hui himself called it a "carp-leaping turnaround" work. MusicBrainz also lists the same year's 雨後陽光 and December 1994's Unique. February 1996's 男人最痛: Wikipedia wrote of the same-titled song as "singing out the heart of men", one of Hong Kong's "smash-hit" songs of that year. Thereafter received recognition from 黃柏高, signed with Cinepoly Records and Gold Label Entertainment under PolyGram. Afterwards also February 1998's 飛得起, January 1999's 真心真意, and January 12, 2001's 優先擁抱. Wikipedia calls the late 1990s to the early 2000s the peak of the music career: in 1999, 2000 and 2003 three times took Ultimate Song Chart Male Singer Gold, in 2001 received Jade Solid Gold Most Popular Male Singer, in 2002 received Ultimate Song Chart My Favourite Male Singer. English Wikipedia records that in 2004 Alan Tam named Andy Hui as one of the "new Four Heavenly Kings", listed together with Hacken Lee, Leo Ku and Edmond Leung; in October 2005 selected as a Ten Outstanding Young Person. Among records left by live albums, 1998 has "好許志安98演唱會", 1999 has "真心真意許志安99演唱會", 2003 has "香港安康演唱會", 2005 has "許志安第一回合演唱會".

In 2005 left Cinepoly, joined East Asia Music and 紅館經理人公司. In 2006 starred in the TVB drama "肥田囍事" as first male lead 戴喜, the same year appeared in the Taiwan drama "深情密碼" as 左鈞, and the next year with that drama was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Programme at the 42nd Golden Bell Awards. The Apple Music album column marks "空前絕後" as 2007, "歌人" as 2009. In 2010 formed Big Four with Dicky Cheung, William So and Edmond Leung, in March held "The Big Four演唱會" at the Hong Kong Coliseum, in February 2013 the four again held "The Big Four 大家利事世界巡迴演唱會2013" at the Hong Kong Coliseum. In 2011 held "許志安 On and On 廿五周年演唱會2011" at the Hong Kong Coliseum; Wikipedia records "every show packed", Apple Music also lists ON AND ON and "On and On 25週年演唱會", both years marked 2011. Apple Music also lists 新天地, marked 2014. In 2015 took part in Dragon TV 中國之星, as a recommended singer in Sandy Lam's team, the same year had "Come On 許志安2015演唱會". In 2016 starred in the film "兇手還未睡", and in the identity of "Tin Man" took part in recording Jiangsu TV 蒙面唱將猜猜猜. In 2017 starred in the ViuTV drama "瑪嘉烈與大衛系列 前度" as 洛奇, in 2018 sang the Cantonese version of the theme song "Remember me" for the Pixar animated film "玩轉極樂園".

At noon on April 16, 2019, a 香港01 reporter wrote that footage of intimacy in a car between 黃心穎 and Andy Hui was reported that day. At seven that evening, Andy Hui, accompanied by manager 黃柏高, held a press conference at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel; 香港01 records that over a hundred reporters were drawn to the scene. 香港01 quotes Andy Hui as saying at the press conference: "First, the purpose of today's press conference is that I really want to say sorry to everyone in person from the heart; I must offer my most profound apologies to my family, Sammi's family, friends and those who love me, because I have done something unforgivable." Also said: "That night I did drink a great deal of alcohol, but drinking is absolutely not an excuse for doing these things; I am extremely regretful afterwards, find it hard to face myself, cannot accept myself. After seeing the reports, I feel I am disgusting, so strange"; "From this moment I will suspend all my work, until I find a true and right self again"; and said "Sorry Sammi", "I am a person gone bad". Oriental Daily News's record is close, quoting Andy Hui crying that something irreparable and unforgivable had been done, "I am a hideous person", and likewise recording that being drunk is not an excuse. 香港01 also records that afterwards an apology statement was posted on Instagram, calling this a wrong that cannot possibly be forgiven, and quotes the text: "As a husband, I have to say sorry to Sammi; this is a thoroughgoing mistake." SCMP's April 18 report wrote that the leaked footage showed kissing and embracing TVB actress 黃心穎 in the back seat. The same day SCMP records Sammi Cheng posting on Instagram, calling this the most important lesson in the marriage, that the two had already communicated in depth, and in the headline and lead wrote that Sammi Cheng indicated having forgiven Andy Hui and would not give up this five-year marriage; quotes Sammi Cheng as saying this experience would help the two return to the right track and life would be renewed — what SCMP published was an English quotation, here a paraphrase. SCMP also records the Macao Personal Data Protection Office issuing a warning on "media attention to taxi-compartment recordings in a neighbouring region".

In 2021 had "狂兽", the theme song of the film "狂兽"; in 2022 had 人與人之間; the same year signed again with the Universal Music system, seventeen years after the contract expired and leaving Cinepoly. In 2023 had "不枉" and the MV "與自己和解". In July of the same year, after the Singapore stop of "Human Live", on the eve of Christmas Eve opened a show in Macau, opened with "一步一生", then for the first time sang the new song "與自己和解" live; Andy Hui told those below the stage that fans had accompanied and supported for more than thirty years, and had become "Uncle 安". At encore self-accompanied "今年沒聖誕", and closed with "世紀末煙花". On August 10, 2026 issued the Remastered 2026 version of "男人最痛". In July of the same year 香港01 reported that to celebrate the 40th anniversary of entering the industry, Andy Hui will return to the Hong Kong Coliseum on October 8 to 10 to hold three consecutive nights of "On Stage"; 香港01 records that priority tickets "were swept up within two hours"; Andy Hui told 香港01 that over these 40 years everyone had walked the ups and downs together, and fans' support is the greatest motivation to keep standing on stage.
