About the artist
Big Four is a male vocal group from Hong Kong made up of Andy Hui, Dicky Cheung, Edmond Leung and William So.
In July 2009, Andy Hui said in a radio interview that the concert planned for that year would instead be held the following year by the four of them together. In August, the four announced that they had formally formed a group and planned to hold concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum the next year; Dicky Cheung said the idea of forming a group for a world concert tour had been ten years in the making.
The group first planned to call itself “大四喜” but took Jan Lamb's suggestion of Big Four, the name Hong Kong football fans use for the “big four” clubs of the English Premier League. In 2010, TVB announced a pay-TV programme hosted by the four, “BigFour大四喜”.
In March 2010, the group released its first album, “The Big Hits”, on Gold Typhoon; its new songs “Big Four” and “愛莫能助” were written by Mark Lui and Wyman Wong. “愛莫能助” was one of the winning songs of TVB's “2010勁歌金曲優秀選第一回” (the first round of the 2010 Jade Solid Gold selections).
That same month, “The BIG FOUR世界巡迴演唱會——香港站”, the Hong Kong leg of the group's world tour, ran for five shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum; three had been planned, and shows were added twice to meet ticket demand. The tour went on to Malaysia and other places, and the show at the Guangzhou Gymnasium on December 24, 2010 was the last of the first world tour. The concert video of the Hong Kong leg was released as a three-disc karaoke DVD, with a live CD in the first pressing. At the IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Awards for 2010, the group was named one of the Top 10 Best-Selling Local Artists, and the concert video won Best-Selling Local Live Audio-Visual Release.
In February 2013, “The BIG FOUR大家利事世界巡迴演唱會2013” ran for six shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum, the second falling on Lunar New Year's Day; in May, the tour played its Macau leg at The Venetian Macao. The concert video of the Coliseum shows was released as a five-disc set of two DVDs, a karaoke DVD and two CDs. At the IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Awards for 2013, it won Best-Selling Local Live Audio-Visual Release, and the group was again named one of the Top 10 Best-Selling Local Artists; the record company was Media Asia Music.
On November 21, 2014, the four held the concert “WOW BIG FOUR 約定您” at the Venetian Theatre in Macau.
In 2025, the group released the new song “赤子們”, with lyrics by 朱琳 and music and arrangement by Mark Lui, who co-produced it with Bryan Yeung; the music video was directed by 李謙明. From August 9 to 11 that year, “BIG FOUR HAPPY TO SEE YOU ALL演唱會2025” ran for three shows at the Hong Kong Coliseum, 12 years after the group's previous concerts there. The tour then went on to Singapore, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco, and played its final stop at the Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, on May 23, 2026.
