About the artist

Chiu-hsin Yu is a Taiwanese Paiwan male singer who forms the vocal duo Power Station with Chih-lin Yen. Chiu-hsin Yu comes from Wenle Village, Laiyi Township, Pingtung County, and graduated from the local Wenle Elementary School. He later graduated from Taiwan Adventist College in Nantou County in 1986.

The pair's musical partnership extended from childhood into their professional performances. Chiu-hsin Yu and Chih-lin Yen met when they were five or six years old and later attended a Christian academy together; both also enjoyed music and playing guitar. After military service, Chih-lin Yen first began singing at a folk-music restaurant in Tainan, and Chiu-hsin Yu later joined him. Chiu-hsin Yu recalled, "At first I played drums and Chih-lin Yen was the lead singer. I didn't start playing guitar until the guitarist left, and I crammed for a week before going onstage." Before their formal debut, the pair also sang at night and took temporary jobs by day, including cleaning an underpass.
