About the artist

Power Station is a Taiwanese male vocal duo, made up of the two Paiwan singers 尤秋興 and 顏志琳. The English names of the two members of this rock duo are Yu Chiu-hsin and Yen Chih-lin. Both belong to the Paiwan people of Pingtung County.

尤秋興 is from Wenle Village, Laiyi Township, Pingtung County. 顏志琳 grew up in Dashe Village, Sandimen Township, Pingtung County. The two graduated from Taiwan Adventist College in Nantou County, 尤秋興 in 1986 and 顏志琳 in 1987.

At about twenty-five the two founded the band "Power Station". On a programme they once spoke of those years of singing residencies at night and doing all kinds of temporary work by day. The time as an underpass cleaner left the deepest impression. The hardship of life did not ease until after the formal debut.

The first appearance, in 1996, was on the What's Music compilation "1996 Pub英雄會", covering 歐陽菲菲's "熱情的沙漠". At the time the name that appeared was "尤秋興, 顏志琳 and Power Station", not yet a Chinese group name. In 1997 the two, together with 熊天平 and 迪克牛仔, were put out by What's Music as the year's newcomers, and that year the Chinese group name 動力火車 was settled.
