About the artist
Hacken Lee is a Hong Kong male singer, born in 1967. The alma mater is Wah Yan College.
In 1985 won a singing-contest championship and signed with PolyGram, choosing Alan Tam's "霧之戀" at the contest. The debut song is "誰願分手".
In November 1987 PolyGram issued the first solo album, including "命運符號", "月半小夜曲" and "誰願分手".
In November 1991 PolyGram issued the Cantonese album "紅日".
In 1993 moved to Star Records, then held a first Hong Kong Coliseum solo; the ten Coliseum shows in 1995 at one point had attendance as low as 40 percent. Hacken Lee has said that after the 1995 solo tickets stalled, each time ticket sales were quite nerve-racking. "回首" was the first single on joining Star Records in 1993.
In July 1998 released the Cantonese album "夏日之神話".
In 1999 signed with Universal Records and issued the album "飛花".
In 2003 received Ultimate Song Chart My Favourite Male Singer. The same year formed "左麟右李" with Alan Tam, and first performed eighteen shows in Hong Kong. Later opened with Alan Tam a "左麟右李" congee-and-noodle shop. At 左麟右李 concerts, sang songs self-composed and self-written, recalling bits of ten years since "左麟右李" was formed.
The March 2005 Cantonese album "空中飛人" included the TV series "青出於藍" theme "開學禮" and "聽傷口說話". In August of the same year rewrote lyrics of ten past Cantonese works and performed them in Mandarin; the works include "愛可以問誰". Also sang a Cantonese theme for the Korean drama "醫道", music by 杜自持, lyrics jointly by Hacken Lee and 張美賢; the related production took three and a half days.
At Lunar New Year 2006 held eight consecutive "李克勤得心應手演唱會" at the Hong Kong Coliseum; the stage was made as a mahjong table, and to greet the Year of the Dog used mahjong and dogs as the stage theme. Guests included 郭晉安, Alan Tam, Andy Hui and 梁榮忠, and the four musicians from "演奏廳" — 譚寶碩, 霍世潔, 龍向榮 and 黃蒙拉 — were invited to rearrange old songs. The same year there was a new song "我著十號" specially to cheer for the World Cup, also a beer commercial song, and an eleven-minute remix "Winning 11 Mix".
In October 2011 "似曾相識" opened a brand-new Mandarin album, also including the Cantonese works "天河" and "孔明燈"; producers of that Mandarin album were 黃韻玲 and 李偉菘.
Alan Tam recommended that Hacken Lee open a concert with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and extra shows brought it to six. Also held seven "弦續 李克勤 · 港樂演唱會" at the Hong Kong Coliseum, with guests 伍珂玥 and 梁玉瑩, two champion students from "中國好聲音".
In 2016 left Universal and joined Emperor; Hacken Lee said thirty years in entertainment and more than twenty at Universal, and before moving first asked Alan Tam, and said the Emperor contract term was three plus two.
In 2017 there was the lead song "失魂記". At the "2017年度叱咤樂壇流行榜頒獎典禮" held on January 1, 2018 received the Ultimate Song Chart Male Singer Gold Award, and with "失魂記" the Ultimate Song Chart Supreme Song Award.
As a charity ambassador attended the press conference of the "UBS Hong Kong Open Charity Cup", and said there had been a week of playing a full fourteen rounds.
On May 9, 2023 Emperor issued the Cantonese album "大人的童話". On March 22, 2024 UNI HK issued "香港小交響樂團演奏廳" three CDs, in the "紅館40" series.
In 2026 held two "Live in Sands" concerts at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, attracting more than eleven thousand in the audience.
