About the artist

Levon Hsu was the founding bassist of the Taiwanese indie band Tizzy Bac. The founding members were classmates at National Central University and all belonged to the school's popular music club. As they moved from their junior to senior year, none of the three belonged to a band, so they formed one together with the goal of creating original music. The band was established in December 1999, with Chen Hui-ting, Levon Hsu, and drummer 鄭凱同 as its members at the time.

The band's members all participated in creating its songs. Taipei Times reported that Chen Hui-ting handled the lyrics, but the three members regarded the creative process as thoroughly collaborative, with the writing and arrangements also subject to review by Levon Hsu and Lin Chien-yuan. Levon Hsu was also the bassist for Frandé and Green!Eyes. Discussing his approach in different bands, he said, "I didn't think about it in any special way. I might just consider what kind of tone suited the band and the particular song. And with bands like Tizzy Bac and Green!Eyes, I had been there from the beginning, so there wasn't really any issue of adapting."
