About the artist

Mr. rhythm guitarist Ronny Lay was born on July 11, 1979. Raised in Hong Kong, he was discovered by a talent scout when he was young and began appearing in print advertisements and music videos.

His band career entered the formal debut stage in 2008. Introduced by Alan Tam, Ronny Lay and the other four members debuted as Mr. and joined Universal Music Hong Kong.

His career took a turn after the band's contract with its record company ended. Ronny Lay said that after the contract ended, the band lost nearly all its entertainment work and income, leaving him no choice but to teach fitness; during the coronavirus pandemic, all previously scheduled work was also canceled.

Acting required Ronny Lay to adapt anew to a different position in the industry. At the start of this career change, he began as an extra, worried about making mistakes, and prepared himself for receiving less attention than before; he later divided his time between working as an actor and as a fitness instructor.
