About the artist

Superband is a band from Taiwan made up of Lo Ta-You, Jonathan Lee, Emil Wakin Chau and A-Yue Chang.

The idea for the band came out of a dinner between Rock Records head 段鍾潭 and Lo Ta-You and Jonathan Lee; Emil Wakin Chau and A-Yue Chang joined afterwards. On July 25, 2008, the four announced the band at a press conference in Taipei and promised a tour. From the start, they agreed that the band would last only one year, release only one record and do only one concert tour. The band's Chinese name, 縱貫線, comes from Taiwan's Zongguan trunk railway line.

In December 2008, Rock Records announced that mixing of the first single, “亡命之徒”, was complete. In January 2009, the band made its first public appearance under its name at the Spring Festival Gala held in Beijing.

“縱貫線 Super Band 世界巡迴演唱會”, the band's world tour, opened at the Taipei Arena on March 7, 2009 and went on to the Hong Kong Coliseum (March 28 and 29), the Workers' Stadium in Beijing (April 18), Hongkou Football Stadium in Shanghai (July 11), Toronto (September 9) and elsewhere. The tour opened under the theme “出發” (Departure) and switched to “歸來” (Return) from late November 2009. On January 29 and 30, 2010, it played two “終點站” (Final Stop) shows at the Taipei Arena, bringing its total to 52 shows. After the Final Stop shows in Taipei, the four said they would not reunite again.
