About the artist
OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM (Official髭男dism), or HIGEDAN for short, is a Japanese band formed in 2012 whose members are 藤原聡 (vocals, piano), 小笹大輔 (guitar), 楢﨑誠 (bass, saxophone) and 松浦匡希 (drums). The band's name expresses the members' wish to keep making music that excites everyone with this same line-up, even once they reach an age suited to wearing beards.
On April 22, 2015, the band debuted with the mini-album “ラブとピースは君の中”. On April 11, 2018, its first full-length album, “エスカパレード”, and the single “ノーダウト” (“No Doubt”) were released on the same day; “ノーダウト” is the band's major-label debut single and the theme song of the Fuji TV Getsuku (Monday 9 p.m.) drama “コンフィデンスマンJP”.
In 2019, the band released the single “Pretender” (May 15) and then “Traveler” (October 9), its first album since its major-label debut. On December 31 that year, it made its first appearance on the 70th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen, performing “Pretender”. At the 37th Japan Gold Disc Award, announced by the Recording Industry Association of Japan on March 10, 2023, “ミックスナッツ” won Song of the Year by Streaming in the Japanese music category, and the band won six awards in all. The 74th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen on December 31, 2023, was the band's fourth appearance; it performed “Chessboard”, the set piece for the junior high school division of the 90th NHK National School Music Competition, together with singing videos submitted by junior high school students.
On May 7, 2024, radio stations across Japan broadcast “Official髭男dism Live at Radio”, a studio live performance by the band. In July that year, the band released its third major-label album, “Rejoice”; pre-ordering it within a set period earned an early-reservation bonus Blu-ray of that performance, “Official髭男dism Live at Radio”, with five songs: “日常”, “TATTOO”, “Chessboard”, “ミックスナッツ” and “SOULSOUP”. “Official髭男dism Arena Tour 2024 - Rejoice -”, a live video of the band's 2024 arena tour, was released on December 10, 2025.
